Here is my project:

I cut out a variety of flower sizes using Art Philosophy flowers. There are about 50 flowers on the heart shaped pocket. I know, it sounds like a lot of work but I use a bamboo skewer to wind the flowers up and do this while I watch TV. After I have about 10 wound, I go back and use liquid glass to glue them together. Since I am watching TV, I don't even pay attention any more and can get 50 done while watching one movie.

This is a shot from the top left corner looking down to the top right side of the heart. The flowers make the heart box very poofy!

I decided to put sparkles in the middle of each flower to add that extra bling, pearls would look great also.

NEW Product Blog Hop

Here is my project:

The new products used include the following:

Pemberly Paper packet. The Flower and the butterfly are cut out from one background and texture paper (B&T paper). To further enhance the flower a cutting knife was used to pop up the petals.

The new Color-Ready Seam Binding Ribbon is awesome. I used buttercup re-inker and applied the color using a sponge dauber. I thought the color might be muted (as I have dyed white ribbon in the past and found this to be the case). The new ribbon holds the true color and you can see I have a vibrant buttercup color on this card.

After I cut the entire card out (and before assembly) I ran the card through my cuttlebug to emboss. Light sanding with our sanding block (medium side) adds a great pop of dimension to the overall card. It also adds some stability for the card as it opens up.

The card opened up:

The inside of the card sports the soft yellow flower B&T along the edges and further cutouts from the large flower print B&T from Pemberly. The label for We Can't Thank You Enough is made with the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge. This is a 2 1/4" label font cutout which was cut in half. I colored the portion of the stamp that I wanted to print (leaving the border and the dots uncolored) with a Cocoa marker. The stamp is from the February Stamp of the Month set Thoughtful Tidings.

You may note the Baker's Twine on the bottom surprise message section of the card. This is a custom color using the Neutral Assortment bakers twine which includes 20 yards of white. You can customize the baker's twine color with a marker, in the preferred color, and some patience. I love that we have some custom colors available and the flexibility to create twine that will perfectly match our colors! I used Indian Corn Blue on the white to create a more custom twine. There are two bitty brads to wind the twine together (I adhered the brads with a little space for the twine before putting the B&T on the back - I bury the brads by covering with paper, so you don't see the legs sticking out).

I am in love with bitty sparkles and you will see an offset row below the greeting.

And the final Thanks:

Another label made from the Art Philosophy cartridge at 2". More sparkles and a section of blue B&T from Pemberly completes the thank you message.

Jan SOTM Blog Hop

Here is the card I made this month:

I cut out a variety of sizes using Art Philosophy flowers. I ran each flower through my cuttlebug with two different folders and popped each layer up with 3D dots. Under the flower, I put a date dial and used a punch to highlight the date 14 and sponged the month Jan.

This is a double fold to the center on the bottom covered with a flap on the top. Lifting up the flap, there are the double flaps to the center. I wrapped dimensional elements letters "U" and "R" with foil (I have a stash from big easter eggs). I wrapped a bow around the bottom of the R and the bow holds the top flap down when the card is closed.

The Happy 4th was made using the Art Philosophy to cut out the blue backgrounds from cardstock and then applying cranberry colored stickers!

The Valentine side (above the 4th of July) was made using the December SOTM Mad About You stamps.

I am in the Christmas frame of mind so I made a half ornament with the stamp shape that corresponds with the Cricut cutout (circular shape not the ticket shape). This is 18 shapes cut out at 2 1/2" and then glued together to get the honeycomb look.

I colored only the Love and You portion of the Love to Love you stamp. The bottom of the ornament is a bling button.

The card is part of a masculine set of cards I am making for my group tomorrow.
The garden green square is cut from Art Philosophy and the garnet ticket is also cut at 1 1/4". I used an embossing folder on the black background and cut a strip from the wishes paper pack and placed the white side of a kraft paper border along the B&T strip.

October Stamp Of the Month - Holiday Magic

I made several cards out of non-traditional paper pack (Sophia) to teach a class on making several cards with minimal amounts of paper and card stock:

The left side is sparkled up, the right side is plain. Both are made up to look like a present. The tag and overlay are Art Philosophy cuts!

The background items are small scrap pieces and the sleigh is stamped in black and cut out to be on top of image. The left shows the card vertically and the right shows the horizontal layout.

The next set is using scraps and a cricut cut stocking which is overstamped. The snowflake that is held by a brad (sorry, not CTMH brad) is also cut with the Cricut!

The left side has an ornament which came out of a Art Philosophy card cut and which had liquid glass placed in the center and was edged with stardust gel.

I love the precut cards and keep the images that cut in plastic bags to use as embellishments on other cards. No waste!

The final card set is the tree image. The left side has a little blingie topper from the bling assortment.

I used the Art Philosophy to create the cards and also to create pillbox packets which were 1/4 " larger than the 3 1/2" card. I then cut out the ends on the front to create a sleeve for each pull out card. I saved the cut outs and made a half flower with a fall feel for an embellishment. The paperpack I used was Dreamin'.

This is a Tri-shutter card with a twist. I couldn't wait to use the new Wonderland paper pack with the snowman image. I've also cut some snowflakes from cardstock using the Art Philosphy cartridge. Added some buttons and bling and this card has something to look at in every nook and cranny.

The card, purple and green layers are cut with the cricut. I cut out a shape and then cut that in half and offset it on itself. So easy with the cartridge. Cut out a hat and put a saying on the card.

The box and the band are made with the cartridge. I cut a 12 x 12 page protector up and then cut it out with the Cricut using the box selection. Top the border with a cut label and then a cut out hat! and you have a cute little treat box!

Here is what I made this month:

I used colonial white cardstock for the base and Outdoor denim cardstock for the scallop punch base. The accordian fold flowers are B&T scraps from the same pattern from the Lucky paper pack. The difference between the accordian folds is 1/4 inch. The left hand flower is 1/4" folds and the right hand flower is 1/2" folds. I wanted to show how two stamps can create cute 4th of July cards. I flipped one of the circular sayings over to stamp a light red background and then stamped Celebrate on top of the red background.

Here is a Scrapbook layout I made to start cataloging my son's Spring Break trip to Ireland. There is one set of shamrock papers in the layout which is not CTMH but I couldn't resist the variety of greens and clovers. I used the four leaf clover from this month's SOTM set and the celebrate stamp to over stamp the clovers.

This layout has the waterfall technique and shows off a series of 7 small photos along with a 2" x 4" photo, once the slider is pulled out. I also used a scrap of B&T golf paper that says "Who's your Caddy?" for the fully extended pull tab. Love multiple pictures (eleven on this page and that includes one 5 x 5 photo!) and I'm all about interactive scrapbooking.

I used a damask print from the Emporium paper pack for the chair, created a pleat for the middle bottom and added pearls. after attaching the pearls, I used a marker to add the lines so the chair looks tufted. The paper fold flower is from a very old paper set but I love the greens.

I used glitter glue on the seat of the first chair and the centers of the flowers along the bottom border. The colors are inspired by emporium paper pack.

The papers and colors are from the Bliss paper pack. I used the waterbrush and ink pads to color the flowers. This is a heat embossed technique with marker tracing the outline and then I used a waterbrush to enhance the image.

Here is a second card that was made with watercolor pen and ink from the pads, to color in the image and the roses are made with paper from the Bliss paper pack. The accordian fold flower is made with a scrap of cardstock which was sprayed with sunflower and create-a-shade in the spray pen.

Napkin Card Video

Let's see if I got this right! The belly band portion is below. Sorry for the low volume! This is my first attempt at a video and I thought I was close enough to the camera when I was speaking. There is soooo much to have together to get a video together in one shot. I am even further amazed by my fellow consultants, who do these on a regular basis.

March Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

Here is what I made this month:

The papers and colors are from the Wings paper pack. I used the waterbrush and ink pads to color the bunnies.

The ribbon runs around the band but between bottom two mat layers and the top two mat layers.

Here is the belly band off and the card opened up. Since the napkin fold card is bulky when closed, it is better to make a belly band that opens rather than a sliding band.

Here is a detail of the inside sentiment. The border punch is not carried by Close To My Heart (it is Martha Stewart). I just love this and it reminds me of lacy Easter dresses.

Love Bird House

Here is another metal works item. I took an old altoid box and covered the top with embossed metal. I have an accordian fold out full of pictures inside for my mom. Sorry, didn't take the pictures of the inside yet.

Day # 8 of Valentine's Day Countdown

I made this project using Monica Weaver's information - she has gorgeous projects and sells metal sheets. I'm hooked on metal through my cuttlebug.

I used gold metal sheet (CTMH used to sell metal sheets - retired :( now). Ran it through my cuttlebug with the swirl folder. Cut out I heart U with my cricut and backed the cranberry cardstock with colonial white Cardstock. Tied a bow around it all and added a tied cranberry ribbon to the top. The heart shaped cany box is from Walgreens - 99 cents and has 3 pieces of chocolate inside.

Day #7 of Valentine's Day Countdown

Here is a mochromatic card for Valentine's Day. I have tried to use unusal colors in the hop (I don't keep much pink on hand as I have am the only girl in my household).

This card is made with Miracle B&T, sweetleaf cardstock and cocoa and sweetleaf ink. The ribbon is twill. The heart is from Olivia microdot B&T paper.

Day # 6 of Valentine's Day Countdown

Here is my contribution for day #6. I used cocoa cardstock embossed with my cricut as the base card. This is a 3 x 8 card. I cut out hearts using the cricut as well from the Olivia paper pack and then sewed them onto a colonial white cardstock background. Then I sewed the whole thing onto the card.

Day # 5 of Valentine's Day Countdown

I saw a card by Brandy Jesperson and Susan Hart in the Stamp It Paper Crafts Technique magazine and just had to try it with some of our CTMH stamps. This is my favorite creation so far in this blog hop:

I started with a colonial white card and 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch piece of B&T word print from a very old paper pack. Then I cut up the cardstock into some random sizes. Some of these pieces were dabbed with Cocoa ink and others were left alone. Then I reassembled the pieces and stamped two butterflies from the set S710 Butterflies (this is an old wood set I could not part with because I love these butterflies). C1192 Air Mail (retired) was used for the post mark Then I used a border from D1428 Happy Journey on the left hand side, Valentine, LOVE( for the sentiment) and hearts from the D1245 In My Heart set. I used Garnet waxy wrapped around the papers and under the sentiment. When everthing was adhered, I used the corner rounder on the top and bottom of the card.

This is my hubby's valentine anniversary card this year (18 years - wow, seems like yesterday we were dating).

I'm really enjoying seeing all the wonderful creations from my fellow CTMH consultants!

Here is my day four entry:

I cut hearts with my cricut out of the Olivia Paper pack (6 hearts), folded them in half and then glued them together with a nylon string in the middle.

Then I added buttons to the nylon string below the heart and additional hearts and buttons along the tail.

Love Bird - Day # 3 Valentine's Blog Hop

Here is my entry for Day # 3:

This love bird is made from the Perfect Day Paper pack (retired, but I have a stash because I love the colors!). I found a tutorial through Lynn Pratt. The heart on the bird is a paper flower which I cut in half and then folded to create the heart (so there is a little depth to the birdie heart. It took me about 3 hours and several false starts to get the first bird made (that is my male love birdie - he is blue and missing from this photo) but the second one only took about an hour to assemble.

February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Here is what I made this month:

The papers and colors are from the Wings paper pack. The colors used are Black, Sweet Leaf and Pear.

I used two clear cards and embossed them with Sizzix Damask folder. Once the pieces were embossed I sanded the raised image for a frosty look and then made the score lines and cuts to assemble the box. The February SOTM was used to create a repeated pattern on Sweet Leaf cardstock and a band was cut to go around the box. Tiny Black pearls were placed in the center of each image on the band. Three light green rhinestones were placed to the right of the truncated saying. I colored the first part of the saying with markers, stamped and then cleaned the stamp. Then I colored the rest of the saying (highlighting friend and heart in opposite color from rest of the saying). There are three mats behind the saying layer with a small loop of black and white ribbon from the Wings Workshop sandwiched between.

Valentine's Day Hop

Here is day 2 of the Valentine's Day Blog Hop entry:

I made a heart shaped candy bag from the clear scalloped card. First I ran the card through my cuttlebug with a Sizzix Damask folder, Then I scored from about the 7th scallop from the middle to a point on the fold about 1/2 inch from the edge. I repeated on the opposite side. Then I pulled it together and put an eyelet in each side to hold it together. The Love Cherish ribbon is old but it was a perfect ribbon for this project.

The happy birthday heart is made from background and texture paper. I took the clear scallop card and traced the pattern onto the the B&T. The process is the same for this heart filled with candy!

December SOTM Blog Hob

Here is what I made this month:

The papers and colors are from Twitterpated paper pack. The colors used are Smoothie, Chocolate and Sweet Leaf.

Here is a detail shot:

I used the heart stamped together 3 times to create an image that I could cut out and accordian fold to make flower petals. I also added a boxed pleat paper ribbon along the bottom which I sewed on. The green flower was cut using my cricut and then the entire flower was anchored with a pewter brad.

I then made a second card creating a spinning element in the card which I haven't used in a while. Hope you like it:

Here is what the spinner looks like flat (for mailing):

The spinner element is the floral heart stamp which I stamped in smoothie and then highlighted the leaves in chocolate. I cut out six images (hint, cut one side, fold in half and use the first cut to do the other side - the image is mirrored so it makes cutting go quicker).

I took the polka dot paper in the Twitterpated set and on the chocolate side I used the same stamp to create a pattern over the polka dots and filled in with second generation double and single hearts from the stamp set.

Here is what I made this month:

The papers and colors are from Olivia paper packs. I made about 20 cards from scraps and ran some of the scrap cardstock through my cuttlebug with various embossing folders. The colors used are Smoothie, Sunset, Chocolate and Pear.

After folding sections for the flower and adhering to the card, liquid glass was applied and then the entire flower was sprinkled with prisma glitter. The glittered flower was then allowed to dry before the excess was tapped off the flower.

For instructions on flowers check out the March blog hop post. This is not a straight fold, I folded the circle on this flower starting about 3/4 of length in, then fan fold until complete (give a flaminco look to the fanfold). If that isn't clear, write me a note and I will take pictures of this twist to the flower fold.

Here is what I made this month:

The note background and texture paper is from the Mistletoe Level II paper pack. Images were stamped and then colored using a waterbrush pen and ink from ink pads. Each image was cut down to a 2 x 2 square and then those squares were edge distressed with cocoa ink. Sparkles were added to the notes on the bottom of the card and a cranberry ribbon tops off this simple 5 x 7 card.

After the image dried, details were highlighted on each image using Liquid Glass.

Here is what I made this month:

I used a clear card to make this little treat bag for Halloween. You can stuff with candy or some other goody for the holiday.

I kept the outer film on the clear card until I had all embossing and scoring completed to protect the card from scratching.

I ran a clear card through a cuttlebug with an embossing folder. Then I sanded the embossed image to give it a frosty look.

I placed the card opening up and then scored each side and the bottom 3/4". I then folded into a box, made a couple snips along the sides to fold the sides in and adhered the bottom with glue dots. A hole through the each side at the top was room to string ribbon through for my bag handle.

Inside the bag is tissue paper stamped with various images from the SOTM set and this bag is ready for Halloween Treats!

Here is what I made this month:

I used the flower stamp to create a Christmas Wreath. I guess I am just in the holiday mood. The paper is Splendor B&T and cranberry and topiary cardstock with colonial white card stock. The card is 5 x 7. A combination of stamped cranberry red (small flower center) and cranberry brads decorate the wreath on its lower window panes. The B&T paper and top window pane have been sewn with a cranberry thread.

The next card I made is a Christmas tree made from the varying sizes of leaves.

The colors are the same and I added a gold foil star and pearls to decorate the tree. A wrap closure was made with the large flower and the center for the small flower shape was used to embellish the wreath. Finally, a ribbon was tied and glued onto the wreath shape.

July Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Here is what I made this month:

The cardstock is cranberry, grey flannel and colonial white along with bamboo textured cardstock. I have used sweat leaf and cocoa for the textured flowers and the layered flowers from the spring blossom paper flowers. Included are the textured stickers offered with this idea book for Connection Club. I ran my hedgie through my sewing machine using a special foot for tailor tacking. It creates large loops of thread and when I was done, I simply snipped the loops to create the fur. Once done, I backed the original image with duplicate plain cardstock, to add stability to the sewn image. I ran cardstock pieces through my cuddlebug for extra dimensions.

Please see the detail pictures for the dimension that the sewing added to the hedgehog.

June SOTM Blog Hop

Here is what I made this month. More out of the pocket ideas for page protectors.

The cardstock is twilight and the ink colors are twilight, tulip and creme brule. The argyl stamp was used to create a border for the clear card front. Dimensional "d" was sponged with creme brule and then stamped with tweed stamp in tulip as were the Color-ready Alphabet letters. I took a six pocket Photo Storage protector and cut it down to obtain two sets of two pockets. These I sewed together and then sandwiched between a cut apart clear card (I cut down the fold to use one for the front and one as the back cover of my accordian fold book). The attached pockets then create nice pockets for pictures.

The first picture is in the left side of the two part page protector.The buttons attach the clear cover front to the first of the photo storage page protectors (there are four pockets in all and a total of 6 pages with the front and back of the clear card).

Page Protector Bag

To make a bag using a page protector start by cutting off the binder section (the part that goes into the album).

Make sure that you have the scoring tool in the trimmer! Then place the protector in the trimmer with the opening at the top. Line up the left side of the page at 11” or less [the larger the section you score, the wider the bag will be – at 11” you are scoring at 1” and you will have a very narrow bag (2” depth and base)]. Note that I have shown the opening with a white bracket }.

Next, turn the page protector ¼ turn to the left (note where the opening is – it is marked with the bracket}). Score again after lining up the left hand side with the same distance and the first score (so if you line up the 1st one at 11” all side will line up at 11” so that you have equal score lines).

Make the final ¼ turn to the left and score one more time. At this point you should have equal scores across the three bound sides of the page protector.

Fold along each score line to make sure that you have crisp lines.

The next part is the hardest part to do (and it isn’t bad). You want to create the bag bottom and will need to create the corner. If you have ever made a bagalope it is the same process!

Crease the score lines and make the bottom corners come to a point as shown

This point will then be folded back onto the bottom of the bag.

Punch a hole in the triangle at the bottom of the bag with our silent setter punch (which is great for this project) and then set an eyelet by placing the right side on the bottom of the bag and setting the eyelet from inside the bag.

Repeat the eyelet setting on the opposite bottom side.

Decorate the bag and the top closure as you see fit. Here I folded the top over, clipped with bulldog clip and a card.

The paper is from the Emporium Collection. I used the Celebration to overstamp in Tulip on the pocket insert and used a marker to place a "1" in the No. line. Two stickers from the Notebook set were placed behind the stamped image for Happy Birthday and I wrote in "It's your day!" with a cocoa marker. I used rub ons to highlight the pockets on the front of the bag, a border sticker from Emporium set for the top of the bag and a sticker "leftover" from the border used on the top of the bag above the rub ons (I had a green strip left when I removed the border sticker from the paper and used that green strip as a highlight on the top of the pocket with chocolates in it).The bag is made from . . . are you ready?! . . . .

April SOTM - Flowerpot

Welcome to the April Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! Flowerpot is a very cute flowery set!

Here is what I made this month.

The paper is from Veranda Collection. I made the flower using the instructions I posted last month but started with paper flowers. They poof right up! Only had 5 flowers to create this many layered flower. I decided to go retro and did some blocking and masking. Since I'm not the biggest flower girl (although you wouldn't know it by looking at my blog lately!) I decided to take a twist on the flowery set and make hats out of the flower pots. Each flower center is offset with sparkles.

A Recipe Layout

Here is a recipe card layout that my class worked on last week
( 8.5" x 11" size). The flower is following my previous post instructions.

Here is the layout with the recipe card propped up! The second part of the instruction is under the main card.

The paper is no longer offered, but I always did like this package. Even though I'm not a pink girlie kind of scrapper - this pretty much covers the girlie rhelm - flowers, butterflies and pink!

March SOTM - A Little Everything

Welcome to the March Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! A Little Everything, a set of Twenty Six (26) stamps. Great collection of greetings, a wonderful scallop edge and bracket! Very versatile!

Here is what I made this month.

The paper pack is The Felicity Collection which was recently offered (love the colors). I found an interesting article on flowers (I'm really not a flowery kind of gal but seem to be putting them on everything lately!). Anyway, With a Cricut machine, these went together very fast and you can change up the basic shape of the flower with different fonts.

This is an easel card - with a tag using A Little of Everything stamps

And now for the close ups - with details . . .

I cut out 2 each of the same shape out of cardstock and 3 B&T papers. The first shape (tulip) is basic shape, second (Sorbet) shows the shape folded in half, The third (B&T) shows half of shape folded in half and the final image (B&T) shows the folded half, then folded again to produce mountain and valley folds of the piece. You will have a fanfold quarter of each image ( two per image).

Cut and fold at least 2 images of card stock and 2 - 3 pieces of B&T paper. Use one image (cardstock) as a base. Line up each quarter image on the base image, alternating the papers and cardstock. See the next image to see how they are lined up. I made sure that all the openings faced the same when when adhering them to the base (it makes fluffing up the flower easier, later on).

Fill in the entire image and build with a second layer if desired. I affixed with regular dotto adhesive. When all the layers are on the image, punch a small hole in the middle and place a filegree charm through the middle to hold down all the layers. Fluff up the petals with your fingers. On my card, I used coordinating paper to cover a snap together button and then affixed the button with glue dots. You could also use buttons in the middle.

Piece of Cake - February Stamp of the Month

Welcome to the February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! February SOTM is Piece of Cake, a set of Ten (10) stamps. If you have come here from Nancy Brown's Blog you got a taste of the talent represented! Here is a collection of items I made this month.

And now for the close ups - with details . . .

The paper pack is Grace using Twilight, Cocoa and Colonial White cardstock. I used glitter on the cake flowers and scored the cocoa cardstock in a diamond pattern before sanding to reveal the white core. Love the new paper flowers, this one is folded in half and secured with a pewter brad.

Next in line is a pop up twirl card.

Stamping of a border is done with Twilight on Twilight. I took a strip of B&T from the Grace paperpack and folded it to create a ruffle under the flower. Love the filegree flowers and attached sparkels to add that shine!

The inside is the Pop-up Twirl Card using a cake to spin when the card is opened. I used our sparkles on the top and bottom of a bamboo skewer stick (instead of the buttons noted in the instructions, also used waxy flax for the thread).

Bows using Jan SOTM Labels

And Here is the second set of directions:

You need 4 stamped labels (the ones which are more rectangular work better for these bows)

Cut the label out and then fold in half to cut out the center of the label (you can trim it up if you need to after the bulk is out). You will then want to fold the label in half both length and width (horizontally/vertically). Once you have done this, then you want to fold the corners the opposite direction of your initial folds (so if your center folds are mountain folds, then fold the corners as valley folds). Once you get to assembly, if you find you want the folds going the opposite directions, it is easy to reverse the folds.

Once you have the labels folded, place a small dot of liquid glass on the mid point of the longest side. NOTE: it doesn't really matter which side you glue together because you can showcase either side once the bow is complete (If you are using B&T). If you are showing off the stamped image, then glue on the opposite side.

Fold the label in half and pinch (or to photograph this I used a tiny cloths pin) to hold the sides together until the glue holds it together. Repeat this with all 4 labels

Once the glue is dry, I pinch the center of each label and make sure my folds are crisp.

Then, place a small dot of liquid glass in the same center point of each label (three dots of liquid glass) - and stack up your labels. This photo shows three labels together (so there are two spots of glue between the three layers). Clip or pinch until each section is dry.

Here are all 4 labels together and clipped. I'm thinking this would be cute for a buttlerfly on a card as well. Hmmmmm......

Once your glue is dry, then spread out each label section. I put a small amount of glue between the first section and the final section once I had spread everything out and clipped those sections together just to get a nice neat circle. So here you see the front and back utilizing two different labels.

If you want to add additional layers, then you will get a more three dimensional look (I did that in my blog hop post on the shopping list portfolio - I used 5 labels and didn't try to make it lie flat).

There are the basics, There are ways to pop it up, alternate the back and front and get an entirely different look and remember, both sides are visible so it is a fun 3D feature.

Ribbon Bow from Jan SOTM Labels

As promised, here is one set of directions:

I created this bow with 3 stamped labels - You can use card stock or B&T (I found it easier to do the first couple with cardstock).

You want to cut out the outer edge of the label and then also remove the center.

Fold the image in half to make removing the center easier. You can always trim a little more if you find that is necessary, this just speeds things along (yes, I am a bit impatient).

Next you will need to fold the label in half horizontally, then vertically along the label. You can fold some labels to show label design and others to show the opposite side (for B&T) - this is shown in the third image with the scissor cap. The next thing you need to do is to fold each corner the opposite direction of your center folds (so if your vertical/horizontal folds are mountain folds, then fold the corners as valley folds). The corner fold is shown with the sciccors. The final image in this photo shows the completely folded label.

This next image shows putting the ribbon bow together. I put the label Brown side up through the center of the label with Yellow side up. 1/2 of the label is under the yellow and 1/2 is above it.

The next layer is a yellow label which goes through the middle of the first two labels, 1/2 behind and a quarter turn different than the first one (in my case I put the label 1/4 turn to the left under the brown label - I held onto the third label for a reference) and the other 1/2 on top. When you have this layer done, the ribbon bow is complete. I found that going much beyond 3 layers make the bow start to move off center. To get the ribbon effect, make sure that your folds are crisp and crisp up folds as needed in the various levels. I attached the bow by placing small glue dots on the various levels of labels (backside) and then adhered to my card. The bow will tend to stay together but reinforcing with glue dots at points where the labels are coming together isn't a bad idea.

January SOTM Blog HOP

Welcome to the January Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! The January SOTM is True Friends, a set of Eleven stamps. If you have come here from Jen Patrick's Blog, you are on Hoppin Along! We have over sixty Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations, using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products. Here is a collection of items I made this month. In the front is a shopping list portfolio with belly band and pencil, next is a bunch of pencils (getting ready for tax season), in the back is a 3 x 8 card.

And now for the close ups - with details . . .

The paper pack is Veranda using Juniper, Cocoa and White Daisy cardstock. I used the same label to make the ribbon bow, that I used on the card to border the "To a special friend" sentiment, using Juniper ink. I added a paper flower from the new Spring Blossom set that I added Juniper ink to color and popped on a fantastic Filigree charm. Topping off the sentiment is a little paper butterfly colored with a hint of creme brulee and dessert sand for depth. I had the paper punch in my supply cabinet and couldn't resist the lacey effect to add a sense of nostalgia to my card.

Next in line

This is a list portfolio made with Juniper and White Daisy cardstock, the Red B&T from Perfect Day. The Tulip inked label used for the "For my friend" sentiment is the same label I used to make the tulip colored bow (notice those little hearts)! The belly band slides off the portfolio to reveal the list and pencil, which I wrapped in B&T.

I used the corner rounder to make the scallop edge on the flap.

The instructions for making the bows? I will post those this weekend (I have to keep you coming back, don't I? - hee hee). Seriously though, I need to take pictures of the steps so that it is clear how to assemble them. It really is pretty easy and I have two different types, depending on the label shape!

Haystack Rock Close-up

Here is a photo I took of William with Haystack in the background. His face was just too dark because the sun was bright and made dark shadows on his face.

But, thanks to my new photoshop class, I have fixed the problem and it turned out to be a pretty nice picture.

I can't wait to work on some of my other class pictures.

It is simple to hop along - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go! I tried several shots to get the glitter effect - it really is sparkly!

Materials Used:
Paper: Twilight Cardstock, Sweet Leaf Cardstock
Stamps: October SOTM - Holiday Warmth and C1379 Holiday Commentary
Inks: Sweet Leaf and Twilight
Other: Z553 Glue Pen (allow glue to dry to tacky finish); Z1222 Glitter Rub On Sheets (used green for the tree and blue for the ornaments); Z1220 Glitter Brads - Jolly Assortment; Holiday Collection ribbon; Cuttle bug used on twilight cardstock along with a sanding block

Process: Traced the stamped tree image with the glue pen, allow to dry to tacky, take the green glitter rub on sheet and lay over the tree image, rub glitter onto tree with stick - the tackiness of the glue will grab the glitter. Repeat process with the ornaments and blue glitter.

Yes, it is almost that time again . . . July 11th we will be holding the 3rd Annual consultant sale. All kinds of crafting items. I believe we will have an original Cricut (no cartridges available) for sale at the event - well, unless it is snagged up pre-sale. Saturday July 11, 2009 at 328 NW 1st Street, Warrenton. The paper and Craigslist will show the sale starting at 9am . . . but our customers will be able to start shopping at 8AM!

I'm already off to a bad start . . . The class we are supposed to have June 4th will need to be moved as I have to attend a training class in Portland on that day. Leaving at 4am and won't be home until 8pm.

Card Workshop Postponed

Hi All!

Writing from Utah. I am going to postpone the Card Workshop to June or August. May just became too packed! The great news is that I have found a really cute card box to keep your cards together and to present as a gift! I promise the wait will be worth it.

I'm trying to find a neat calendar that we can use interactively for the class schedules. But in the meantime:

Thursday, May 14th at Sharon's office we will be working on dimension cards

Bill is home

Bill came home from the hospital last night. Lots of settling in to do at this point. He continues to get better every day but it will be a long recovery for his leg to heal. He is to stay down and leg up for at least 2 weeks!

Memory Box Rescheduled to 4/23

Due to illness in the family I have rescheduled the Memory Box Workshop to Thursday 4/23/09. Same place at 7pm!

Just a quick update - Bill was admitted to Columbia Memorial Hospital on Saturday after 24 hours of IV antiobiotics were not making a dent in his leg infection.

He has been receiving 3 antibiotics since Saturday, around the clock. The doctor is upping one to every 6 hours and hoping that will help him heal faster. He is looking at coming home Thursday if things continue to progress.

We are looking at an evening class (2 hours maximum) - Friday's are best for me or Saturday 11am or 1pm. Let me hear your feedback! Goal 20 cards in 2 hours! Here is an alternative for the memory keeper workshop being offered in April! Make cards. It is your choice which version you make. I have had people buy card kits to coordinate with their paperpack choice for the memory keeper and plans are underway for the whole workshop to turn into a mother's day gift! Great planning and what a wonderful way to give mom the gift that keeps on giving. The best part is it folds flat for mailing (even when it is decorated).
